Okayyyyyy. Can I just start by saying how excited I am for this show?!!? Being back in the choir room, in the PAC, with so many wonderful humans has already been so fun.
I'm playing Fastrada, AKA the evil step-mom to Pippin. Already, I'm having a blast playing her. A little while ago, I realized who she reminded me of. TANYA FROM MAMMA MIA. Soooo, basically I'm emulating Tanya, her energy, some of her mannerisms, etc. as I'm playing Fastrada. Tanya is an icon. Need I say more? She's glamorous, unapologetic, and very silly. Which, is also totally this character! Also, playing a goofy villain has been so freeing. I have quite a bit of artistic freedom within how I portray her, and it's been exciting to make her my own.
I think being away from theater (at least in person) has been a good chance for me to miss it. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I didn't realize how much I missed this theater troupe until I came to auditions and saw everybody again. This show is already such a big source of joy for me, and I just can't wait to get closer with everyone on the team, and of course perform the dang thing!!
