For those of you who don’t know, I am the stage manager for our production of The Imaginary Invalid, and one of my favorite parts of this job is choosing the quote of the day. Quote of the day (or QOTD) is one of the ways we make rehearsals fun and weird and cool. Every rehearsal, people will periodically come up to be and say, “Crow, I have a submission for quote of the day.” I dutifully record this quote, and, at the end of the day, I choose the winner. Sometimes, there are no submissions for quote of the day, and I am sad. But other times there are so many and choosing is the most difficult task of my day.
So, dear audience, why am I telling you this? Well, for any actors and techies reading this, please continue saying all your amazing, ridiculous things and keep submitting the ones you hear. They bring me immense joy and happiness when I read them over again and again. They are tiny little gifts and I love them all dearly. For those of you who are not in the production, I think these QOTDs encompass the friendship, the happiness, and the chaos of rehearsals (also they are just very silly and as I have said they bring me a ridiculous amount of joy). These plays are truly a labor of love for everyone involved.
And you should come see this play!! So much work and time has gone into it (and many silly goofy quotes as well) and it is all so YOU could spend two hours in our PAC watching our show.
