Horses and Theater, that's it by Lilith Sherrard

I am a very simple person. I've got two hobbies: theater and horseback riding. Arguably two of the most time-consuming things. With theater you've got rehearsal 4 times a week and riding (for me) is about 3-4 times a week, that adds to 7 or 8 days. And boy howdy does it keep me busy but what do theses two things have anything to do with each other besides the fact that they're time consuming? Well usually they don't. But I'm here to tell you they are. Thanks to the absolutely amazingly incredible wonderful production team and their scheduling skills, I'm able to take one day off from rehearsal to go to the barn. But when I'm there I don't just ride. I run my lines to the horse and sound like a mad man, I practice my blocking, and I think about my character choices. And it's so much fun! Rehearsal is the thing I look forward to at the end of the day because I get to learn about character choices and I get to work with so many incredible people. So are horses, you get to create a bond with this huge animal and jump stuff is magical. So, me being able to tie those two things together is amazing! Even if it's a little silly, it's my two passions. And if you want to find out if running lines to a horse is an effective method of memorizing lines, you're gonna have to come see the show to find out!
